The historic Bachhaus contains dwelling quarters from Bach's time. Visitors can hear talks about and performances on original keyboard instruments from the period. Every visitor can hear chamber organ, spinet, clavichord and harpsichord - an opportunity unique in the whole of Germany. The adjacent new building is entirely devoted to Bach's work. The visitor can follow the progress of a Bach manuscript right up to the printed music and listen to the history of performance practice with the aid of various recordings. He can step into a 180-degree multimedia performance of four of Bach's compositions.
